Adelphia was named after the Greek word "brothers". The company was founded in 1952 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania. The corporate office of the company moved to Greenwood Village, Colorado after filing for bankruptcy. On July 31 of the year 2006, Time Warner Cable and Comcast completed the acquisition of Adelphia. Before the bankruptcy in 2002 because of internal corruption, the company served more than 110,000 customers in 27 states across the United States. Adelphia no longer exists as a cable provider.
